Goodbye Ruby Tuesday, who could hang a name on you?
When you change with every new day
Still I'm gonna miss you
(Ruby Tuesday / The Rolling Stones)
We accept irony through a device called metaphor. And through that we grow and become deeper human beings.
This is one Anderson movie I need to watch!
ReplyDeleteIt's thought to be an absolutely cannot miss movie!
ReplyDeleteWes Anderson has just made a new film called Fantastic Mr. Fox. Sounds quite exciting!
Isn't that a story by Roald Dahl? I shall keep an eye on it :)
ReplyDeleteYes! The story by that famous author of Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. What an interesting combination! Wes Anderson and Roald Dahl...
ReplyDeleteIs there a preview / trailer for the Fantastic Mr. Fox yet?
ReplyDeleteI like Royal Tenenbaums, but I really like that Man Man video under it.
Spike Jonze has a new movie coming out that looks AMAZING. It's based on a children's book, "Where the Wild Things Are." It's about a boy who dreams to be away from his parents.

I really like that Man Man's video too. Charlyne Yi is so nice in the video**
Yes! Yes! and Yes!! I totally have to watch that Spike Jonze's new movie! I watched the trailer when I went to a theatre to watch new Harry potter's movie. haha. yeah, that looks so brilliant. The author of "Where the Wild Things Are", Maurice Sendak is quite famous in Japan too. I can't wait-!!
Did you know that the Royal Tenenbaums were roughly based on the fictional family created by the famous writer, J.D. Salinger? The family was called the Glass family. One of the most famous books of them was called "Franny and Zooey." Check it!
ReplyDeleteI read Franny and Zooey this summer. Wow!! It rings a bell now. This brother and sister in this film must be the model for the Franny and the Zooey. ummm~, super kids, shutting herself up in a room.... Thank you for sharing that interesting thing with me. How very nice to know that!
ReplyDeleteThere's a movie preview for another new Spike Jonze movie! Like "Where the Wild Things Are, he's making another movie based on a popular American children's book! Look!
ReplyDeleteThe Book:

The Movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wsLqKAvKiQM
hahaha! Is that Spike Jonze's joke? He made it for a joke, or is that a serious one? or someone imitated his work?? Anyway it's so funny!
ReplyDeleteHeeeey,,, Everyone Poops is Japanese book. The author, Taro Gomi is the most famous author of children's books in Japan. I played baseball with him and his family when I was a student of a school for making children books. Not only his works but also he was so interesting!
That's not a real trailer for a Spike Jonze movie. Somebody just thought it'd be funny IF Spike Jonze adapted a different children's book as a movie. "Everyone Poops" is kind of a popular children's book in America. As you can see from this video, there are three versions of the book (but the second two bookd are jokes): "Everybody Poops," "Nobody Poops But You," and the popular Catholic version which is "You're a Naughty Child And That's Concentrated Evil Coming Out the Back of You."

And have you ever seen the American tv show, "Freaks and Geeks"?! I just learned that the boy werewolf from the Man Man video is Martin Starr!! He's the coolest nerd in the world! He played Bill Haverchuck from Freaks and Geeks!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uY_r5O4PKi4
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SluHEnWXFkY
and his last movie was Adventureland: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xykI3kkM9l4
He's older, but still Cool and Nerdy.
Is the werewolf the man who was in Freaks and Geeks??!! Wow!! I didn't notice at all. That's amazing!! yeah..., he is nerdy at any time. I love that, though.
ReplyDeleteThat cartoon video is funny. Simpsons?
In Japan, a great famous children's book is "The Great Big Enormous Turnip", I think. It's a Russian book, tho. Russian books are always great. Dostoyevsky, Chekhov, ...well, anything else...., yeah....
The cartoon is from a tv show called "Family Guy," which is okay. It's a different kind of humor than Simpsons. Family Guy uses A LOT of non sequitur jokes, which means that the jokes have NOTHING to do with the story.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, when we gettin a new entry, eh?1
Have you seen this?

ReplyDeleteThanks for the nice videos. I remember seeing the last one, Hell Bent. It's a good one. Neo-futuristic world is always sad. I like that, well..., everyone like that, though. You have talent to find nice videos!
ReplyDeleteNew entry, new entry, my new entry will be.....
I've read some good books, and found some good quotes, but it's in Japanese. I'm reading an English book bit by bit now... I'm thinking, thinking...
Please wait a little while longer~
"Where the Wild Things Are" is now out in the theaters in the US. I haven't seen it yet but most of the reviews are positive, but some of reviews aren't so great either. Most of the negative reviews say that the movie doesn't have much story to it. and that it can be kinda boring.
ReplyDeletebut you know what? The BOOK didn't have much story to it! In the book, Max got mad, went to his room, dreamed of a land with monsters, played with the monsters, and then went home cuz he missed his family. THE END.
Now, try to make a movie out of that. You have to fill in the space in between!
but MOST of the reviews have been good. So I'm excited to see it.
I basically like such kind of movies which doesn't have much story. I can find myself stories in the movies. I look forward to seeing "Where the Wild Things Are" :)
ReplyDeleteI fear something happening too much in a movie, in a way. CIA something, FBI something, aliens.... Their way of spending their holiday would be fun to see though.
